Philippine Swimmers Shine at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 with New National Records

Philippine swimming celebrated a remarkable achievement at the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026, as three Filipino swimmers established new Philippine National Records in their respective events.

Representing the Philippines on the biggest stage in Asian swimming, Kayla Sanchez, Gian Santos, and Xiandi Chua delivered outstanding performances and etched their names into the country's swimming record books.

Kayla Sanchez — 50M Freestyle & 50M Backstroke

Kayla Sanchez produced an impressive performance, setting a New Philippine National Record in the 50M Freestyle with a time of 24.75 seconds.

She also posted a strong 28.19 seconds in the 50M Backstroke, highlighting her versatility and speed at the Asian Games.

Gian Santos — 200M Freestyle

Gian Santos made a major breakthrough in the 200M Freestyle, clocking an outstanding 1:49.34 to establish a New Philippine National Record.

Xiandi Chua — 200M Individual Medley

Xiandi Chua added another national record to the Philippines' impressive campaign, setting a New Philippine National Record in the 200M Individual Medley with a time of 2:16.02.
